Spring PFT Day 3

Day 3 of the Spring PFT is now in the Gallery.

The groups doing the Spring PFT are smaller due to the fact that the Class of 2021's last PFT was in the Fall and any cadet that validated in the Fall does not have to take this one.  The test was and is available to take during any of 3 P.E. Periods, 0730, 0930, or 1400. To help make your photo hunting much easier, we will be sorting the photos into these time periods. (At the end of the blog.)  Make sure to ask your cadet for the date and time that they took their Spring PFT.

As a Cadet at the United States Air Force Academy, they will take physical fitness tests each semester to measure their overall strength and conditioning. Proficiency is required in both the Physical Fitness Test (PFT) and the Aerobic Fitness Test (AFT). Cadets are required to take both the AFT and PFT each semester of their cadet career.

The fitness-testing program serves many purposes, including:

  • Promoting maximum fitness among the cadet wing
  • Developing a foundation for a lifetime of fitness
  • Recognizing cadets who excel in maintaining their personal fitness

Those members of the Cadet wing who achieve the maximum point total on either the PFT or AFT belong to the prestigious 500 Club. Those few Cadets who maximize their scores on both belong to the exclusive 1000 Club.
