Azimuth Summer Program

Azimuth Summer Program!

What is Azimuth?

Azimuth is a developing summer program at USAFA. Cadets from the United States Naval Academy, Reserve Officer Training Corps, and the United States Military Academy, join USAFA cadets for the 3 week program. The overall goal is " To educate, train and inspire men and women to become officers of character motivated to lead the United States Air Force and Space Force in service to our Nation", similar to the Space Training and Readiness Command- STARCOM. The Azimuth program includes cadets visiting local military space bases, meeting with active duty Guardians, visiting commercial space industry partners, building and launching model rockets, exploring the Space Domain through Augmented Reality, completing a neutral buoyancy mission (Scuba), running an Electronic Warfare simulation, and partnering with NASA, to design and execute zero-gravity experiments.

This program has grown quite a bit over the last few years of coverage, and we we're excited to see the new upgrades and events at Azimuth this year!  We hope you enjoy seeing them too!

As the summer wraps up, the rocket launch, the last event Webguy covers for Azimuth, is on a brief hold until later in August.  We're working to find out details as we're hoping we can head down to Hudson Ranch to take the final photos for Azimuth this summer.  We will keep you posted if we're able to make the final launch!
