Rifle Drill
As the sun began to set over the Terrazzo, Basic Cadets gathered for another evening of military training, this time focusing on rifle drill fundamentals. Under the guidance of cadre, the basics learned the proper techniques for handling their training rifles while standing at attention, at ease, and during marching movements.
Rifle drill is an important part of Basic Cadet Training, helping cadets develop discipline, attention to detail, and confidence while reinforcing the standards expected of future Air Force and Space Force officers. Throughout the training, cadre demonstrated each movement before the basics practiced maintaining the correct hand placement, posture, and precision required for every command.
As the session continued, the basics worked to coordinate their movements while marching with their rifles, learning to move as one cohesive unit. Repetition and attention to detail were key as cadre provided guidance and corrections, encouraging each cadet to refine their technique.
Every drill session builds upon the last, reinforcing the military bearing and discipline that serve as the foundation of Basic Cadet Training. With each practice, the basics continue to gain confidence and sharpen the skills that will prepare them for the challenges ahead.
