UAS Summer Period 1

On a beautiful and very hot summer morning, WebGuy was out capturing the UAS action for Summer Period 1.  We were out in Jacks Valley, B52 display down by North Gate and the east side of the athletic fields.

On Monday the cadets conducted the second mission in their scenario exercise. The cadets were out at the flying sites conducting linear tracks of some of the roads that are “major highways” in the scenario, looking for simulated IEDs and then reporting back to base their positions when they think they have found one.

The purpose of the scenario exercise was to allow the cadets to employ what they have learned in the classroom in a way that is made to mirror how the RQ-20 PUMA is used operationally.

UAS 200 IS AN INTRODUCTION TO AIRMANSHIP CONCEPTS AND THE APPLICATION OF AIRPOWER THROUGH OPERATION OF SMALL UNMANNED AIRCRAFT SYSTEMS (SUAS) AND EXECUTING SIMULATED SCENARIOS WITH THE JOINT ALL-DOMAIN ENVIRONMENT (JADE) SYSTEM.
